THE STORY BEHIND KILLER BEE CAR TALK
For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with cars. Some of my earliest memories were spent playing with toy cars in front of the TV with the legendary voice of Murray Walker in the background as my dad watched the Formula 1.
I spent my youth growing up in the 90s watching the likes of Colin McRae and Tommi Makinen battle it out with Subaru and Mitsubishi in the WRC. Laurent Aiello was winning the BTCC in his super touring Nissan Primera and Mike Hakkinen become a double world championing his McLaren. I am part of the PlayStation generation, being introduced to cars by games like Gran Turismo.
At 14 I started working weekends cleaning cars at my local Mitsubishi dealer and I absolutely loved it. I never missed a day. My next milestone was passing my test, my first car being a mk4 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V, which felt like the fastest thing in the world! From there my car history has been a mixed bag but highlights have been a classic Mini Cooper, Eunos Roadster and a Honda Accord Type R.
As of today, my fleet consists of a 1993 Jaguar XJ40, a Suzuki Ignis Sport and an Audi A2 TDI. I set up my Instagram account a few years back to document my car ownership, track days and car shows. I’ve found it’s been a great way to chat with likeminded people but sometimes you need a way of expressing yourself better than a picture and a few lines, that is where this blog comes in.
I set up this blog as somewhere to have a bit of a rant about our shared passion and voice our opinions on what is an incredibly diverse and fascinating world. As long as it’s got wheels, I’ll most likely want to talk about it, so whether you’re into classics, JDM, motorsport or super cars, I hope there’s something here to keep you interested and get you thinking.
